Finished this yesterday – most of the mounting done while watching Brave Bafana fight the French. Very inspiring.
It is a once-off, unique piece, destined to be a thank you gift to Charl and Elise. We stayed a night on their game farm in January. They gave new meaning to the word “hospitality”: game drive, fantastic food, luxury accommodation…
Elise loves aloes and collects them from all over South Africa (Africa?) to plant in her garden. So this piece of shweshwe reminded us of her.
Since it is a gift, I tried to make the back “nice” too!
Ta – da! Hanging against my wall. Let’s back up a little…
Now Colyn must just figure out the postage issue and it can leave for KwaZulu-Natal.
